Nil Jang će održati predavanje o filmskoj kritici, predstaviće svoje omiljne filmske kritičare i objasniće kako je moguće, a ponekad i opasno gledati mnogo filmova. Predavanje će započeti kratkim filmom iz lične kolekcije.
Nil Jang (Easington, Velika britanija, 1971.) piše filmske kritike za The Hollywood Reporter i redovno objavljuje između ostalog i u Sight&Sound (London), Tribune (London), KINO! (Ljubljana), vebsajtu IndieWire, MUBI i Jigsaw Lounge. Između 2011. i 2014. godine bio je direktor Bradford International Film Festival –a, takođe je bio i konsultant za nekoliko evropskih festivala kao što su Viennale (Austrija). Član je FIPRESCI – ja, od 2002. godine učestvovao je u preko 20 žiriranja, između ostalog i na Kanskoj nedelji kritike. Živi u Sanderlendu, severoistočnoj Engleskoj.

We Don’t Need Another Hero: Kyle Crichton and the crisis in film criticism.
Neil Young will talk about film criticism, discuss some of his favourite film-reviewers, and how it’s possible – and dangerous – to watch too many films. Preceded by a short film from his personal collection.
Neil Young (Easington, UK, 1971) reviews films for The Hollywood Reporter and contributes regularly to Sight&Sound(London), Tribune (London), KINO! (Ljubljana), the websites IndieWire, MUBI and Jigsaw Lounge, among other international outlets. Between 2011-4 he was Director of the Bradford International Film Festival at the UK’s National Media Museum and he works as an advisor/consultant for several other European festivals including the Viennale (Austria). A member of the international film-critics’ organisation Fipresci, he has served on more than 20 juries since 2002, including Cannes’ Semaine de la Critique in 2013. He lives in his home-town of Sunderland, on the coast of north east England.
